Expand your potential in your academic career
Inspire and ignite others
Hi, I’m Carlos Coria-Sánchez, PhD. I’ve dedicated more than 30 years to academia as a professor, researcher, and mentor. Through my work in academic mentorship and career guidance for professors, I’ve helped colleagues and students navigate the challenges of higher education.
Now, I want to share my experience to support university student success, provide college admissions mentoring, and offer bilingual academic consulting for families who prefer guidance in Spanish. My mission is to promote academic equity and inclusion while helping professors, students, and parents achieve their goals in their academic careers.
What can I do for you?
As a parent, I know how overwhelming it can feel when your child is starting college, especially if it’s the first time in your family. That’s why I offer clear communication in Spanish, so you can fully understand the college experience and feel confident about the path your child is taking.
My goal is to reduce frustration and give you the clarity you need to support your son or daughter. Together, we’ll build confidence in their academic journey and make sure you feel included every step of the way.
As a student, I know how important it is to feel guided and supported in your academic journey. I can help you with college admissions mentoring, from preparing your applications to making confident decisions about where to study.
I’ll also support you in selecting the right classes for your major, so you can build a strong foundation for your career. Together, we’ll define your academic goals and create a clear path to succeed in higher education.
My role as your mentor is to make sure you don’t feel lost in the process, but instead empowered to achieve your potential.
As a professor, I understand how challenging it can be to navigate your career, whether you’re just starting out or already mid-career. I offer career guidance to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
I can support you in your job search, guide you through the promotion process, and help you avoid the “mixed signals” that sometimes come from your chair or institution.
My goal is to help you overcome institutional challenges and obstacles in academia, so you can focus on advancing your career and making a lasting impact in your field.
I offer a free 30‑minute academic consultation for professors, students, and parents. During this time, we can talk about your specific challenges and goals in academia.
My services are available in both English and Spanish, so families who prefer guidance in Spanish can feel fully supported.
After our initial conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to our organization. Every contribution goes directly to a scholarship fund for underprivileged students, reinforcing my commitment to equity and inclusion in higher education.

Testimonials
Dr. Coria,
“Thanks so much for your nomination. You have no idea how much it meant to me, especially given how rough the last week has been. You have been a bigger impact on my life than I’m sure you know. You are a majority reason I chose to stay at UNCC, and I cannot thank you enough. Thanks for helping me be a better student, and that for being a person I know I can talk to. It’s nice to have someone like you close by, since all my family is so far away.”
-Former Student
